Seat of Ease

This rolled piece of funnel shaped metal, called a seat of ease, was used as a waste tube that was fitted in the extreme stern of the vessel for officers' use. This article of convenience was likely only available for use by officers of La Concorde, and later, Blackbeard and his most senior crew members.
